Mark Cuban was perched out in the rightfield bleachers for Mondays Cubs-Reds game. I hope it's a sign of good things to come this off-season. He got to witness Wrigley at it's absolute best with that spectacular finish. The fans were going crazy during that 9th inning rally. When the Cubs reach the playoffs at the end of this month. I wouldn't be surprised to see him out there again.

If you are going to experience the Cubs it has to be in the bleachers on a night like last night. I was at the DBacks game last night and listening to Pat and Ron. Or at least trying to listen to them. You could barely hear them talk over the crowd noise. At Chase field the only thing you could here is crickets. They have such a terrible fan base.
I am saying first (again) and everyone can reflect on this post later on but NOTHING GOOD will come from Mark Cuban buying the team. He would only exploit this organization for his own benefit and will not our best interests in mind. He is a self proclaimed die hard Pirates fan. The owners of MLB will never approve him as an owner anyway...
I won't argue about Cuban and his team affinities. As for what he would do with the team you are probably right. The only thing I am pleased to hear about is that the Federal Trade Commission may override the owners club ( Selig ) and their goal to sell to a buddy and fellow Brewers owner. It seems the shareholders are enraged that it would not go to free bidding and the highest bidder getting it ,as well they should. I would much rather see it go to someone who will pay top dollar than a " buddy discount " . If you have to pay more for something you will appreciate it more and not be willing to compromise your team for the benefit of the group.

I have heard that he is a big Pirates fan. However. I don't know how he could exploit the team and the fans any worse than the Tirbune. I am not necesarily for or against him. I think he is a long shot. I am really rooting for Jerry Collangelo or the long shot of all long shots the fans pooling/purchasing the team ala Packer Fan.

The Packers maybe the most successful sports franchise of all time its publicly owned and is one of the most popular teams in the NFL. I have a feeling that the Cubs under the same ownership would be even better. I know I said before I don't care for the NFL. I lied. I love baseball more but the NFL is pretty intoxicating.

Good info. I always thought it seemed a little crooked that you had to be one of the popular kids in the "click" to get into their little group. Selig is a turd.

It is worse than that. Selig pulled a fast one when he moved the Brewers to the NL in '98. He was hoping to surpass the Cub - Card rivalry and sub plat it with a Brewers one. If any member of his group gets it they will be more concerned with expanding interest in Wisconsin baseball and not the betterment of the Cubs. Actually it would be to their benefit to bleed the Cubs and get more fans in their NEW park in Milwaukee. Any member of the Cheddar Head group would be the LAST person we would ever want to own the Cubs.
