"A Don Pepin Garcia weekend" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-17 13:50:30

Over the weekend. I had the pleasure of smoking several cigars made by the good Don. I had an El Centurion Guerrero. San Cristóbal Guajiro and a 5 Vegas Miami Petite Corona. Oh my! All were most excellent and I nubbed all three. The El Centurion was especially appreciated as it surived an accident which required some surgery. I had smoked it about half-way when due to an excess of clumsiness. I knocked it on the floor. Of course it had to arrive right in the middle of the only cat-fur bunny on the surprise and immediately my nostrils were assailed with the ghastly aroma of burning cat fur!I grabbed the thing off the floor to find burning cat fur stuck to the glowing ember and that the wrapper had cracked in several places. Aieeeeee! Well. I dug out my little bottle of Cigar adulterate and my Xikar and proceeded to the operating dwell. With the Xikar. I removed the ember with attached burning cat fur and about a 1/4" of cigar. Then generous applications of Cigar Dr to close all incisions and prevent post-operation explosion. With some trepidation. I purged the stump and re-lit. The cigar did well but then began to expand somewhat causing existing "incisions" to expand but quick and generous application of CD stopped the affect. I was able to continue to enjoy the cigar for some time finally - and reluctantly - giving up when the adjoin got too hot to direct with (I was holding it desire a fit) and my lips started to feel the heat. Got it down to about 3/8 of an inch before saying goodbye. Guys - you gotta get some of these!Cheers!
