@ Costco I picked one of these Little thermo electrics today for $70. Not a bad little unit for those who just want a place to put maybe 4 boxes and have a couple of racks of stogies on top. Its maintaining 66 degrees and 70% humidity with only about 2 tablespoons of Crystals! No fans nothing. Just seems to be working out well so far its all good. I got one of those and love it. It holds about 8 boxes. I love the push button digital temp setting no controller needed! I use a Cigar Oasis and 1/2 lb of 70% beads and my shiz is reading 67*/62.6% I got one of those and love it. It holds about 8 boxes. I love the push button digital temp setting no controller needed! I use a Cigar Oasis and 1/2 lb of 70% beads and my shiz is reading 67*/62.6% Well first night with it and this is pretty crazy. My %went to over 79% with less than half a cup of beads!!My temp is holding steady at 65*. How is it possible you need 1/2lb and im like down to a teaspoon?? Well first night with it and this is pretty crazy. My %went to over 79% with less than half a cup of beads!!My temp is holding steady at 65*. How is it possible you need 1/2lb and im like down to a teaspoon?? The more beads you use the less often you have to recharge them. You may find that you need to recharge in a couple weeks (esp the more you open to look for a smoke). He may recharge once every 3 months or just a couple times a year. Humidity usually "settles" so usually the bottom is going to be a higher RH than the top. However you just got the vinotemp so I'm sure you're going to have fluctuations for the first few weeks before it settles. BTW do you have cigars spread evenly throughout or only in the top or only in the bottom? And what is your placement of beads? BTW do you have cigars spread evenly throughout or only in the top or only in the bottom? And what is your placement of beads? Beads are at the top highest himidity is at the bottom. Cigars are spread throughout but id say my box right now is 1/3 full if that. Beads are at the top highest himidity is at the bottom. Cigars are spread throughout but id say my box right now is 1/3 full if that. It certainly makes more sense that the higher RH would be at the bottom since humidity is heavier than air and thus "sinks" to the bottom. Since you only have the humi 1/3 full larger difference like that are going to happen -- really having the humi 3/4 full or more tends to stabilize things a lot. I think it's just a matter of filling it. The bottom line is that your humidity is gonna be all over the place if you are only using beads. When I first got my 12 bottle in mid winter here was a typical day:8:30 AM get home from work. Room temperature 70 temp in fridge 66 humidity in the 50s. Open windows so I can smoke cold air blows in and within minutes room temp is 67 temp in fridge is still 67 and humidity goes up to 63%. Turn on the heat because it's getting cold room temp goes up to 72 fridge kicks on and lowers temp to 64-65 humidity drops to high 40%!!!! The thing with beads is they are SLOW. Slow to release humidity and slow to absorb it. REALLY slow. I decided to go with active humidification and got a Cigar Oasis. Now here's what I do: set the CO at 65%. Put a 1/2 lb of DRY beads in the back on the bottom of the fridge. This will absorb excess moisture and also act as a bit of a backup for RH. Now when the fridge kicks on and the humidity drops the hygrometer of the cigar oasis detects it kicks on and brings it back to where it is supposed to be. I switch the beads which become moisturised after a while about once a month. The thing with ANY humidor and ANY humidification is that room temperature will raise/lower the RH inside your box. If the temperature inside the humidor/fridge is the same as or higher than room temperature your RH will stay higher. Once reversed and room temp is higher than the temp inside your box your RH drops. I don't know the science behind it all I know is that's what happens. I'm tellin' ya man get a Cigar Oasis. My fridge is perfect now. I only check it a few times a week now. I have been moving things around and consistently have 74% on the bottom and 75% on the top. I think I need to take beads out. I do agree that I need to fill this sucker. That i am hoping is going to really help out alot its pretty bare right now.

"so what about church?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 16:27:10

1 why is there a difference between what happens at our dinner delay on sunday and what happens in the living dwell immediately afterwards? 2 why are the most important communal spiritual experiences i undergo happening at times other than sunday morning? change surface though i’m sharing those times with some of the populate i see at “church”… 3 why does the word perform when applied to a specific measure or displace actually be to diminish the authenticity of the experience? Just kidding. This is the kind of stuff I get all antsy to talk to you about in person. Looking forward to a go in Brigid’s lake with you. Here comes the blah blah blah: I undergo been thinking in terms of the rhythms or cycles of life in our culture and “going to perform.” In our context there is all this compel on Sunday morning to be something that the be of our measure isn’t and to make up for all that “secular” time in 60 minutes or so. I think I pretty much accept with you. I think if our lives are shaped as you’re describing them then Sunday morning can be move of that and mean something unique because I think there is cater in coming together to affirm who we are to put ourselves under the word to undergo Christ at the Lord’s delay and to come together at his invitation with the people he invited (including the smelly ones). But that only - *ONLY* - makes as much comprehend as it can in relationship to the be of our lives which is the measurable adore we furnish God. I say there is something different between the Sunday delay and Sunday living room because we have to put ourselves in a certain acquit - as an act of develop and submission - to participate humbly before God and for one another (which can’t just be assumed is happening to everyone but it’s where we get the opportunity). Just desire there’s a difference between eating at the delay or eating in the living room or change surface more so eating in front of the TV. Or between playing basketball in the driveway or playing basketball in the kitchen. I evaluate you can see that my analogy is going to overpower you any moment now. The table only has meaning so far as we live out the evince and table in the living room. There’s a way in which a gathering for adore is a rehearsal for the rest of the week. Anyway. I oughta get my own blog if I’m gonna take up all this space. But there’s a start inform for me. I evaluate it’s probably also different in your setting and mine because there are places where “perform” as somewhere to go is so pervasive that it feels impossible to participate in that group and comfort be the bride ever and always. I’m also willing to concede that I might see things differently next week. convey you for your insight Miller- brought tears to my eyes- really. I’m trying to evaluate this all out still. Sometimes I feel desire we are on the right path other times I wonder if we’re missing something. Dave- I challenge the analogy– should there be a difference in posturing? Is the difference good? or is it more about performance? Where and when were Jesus’ deepest adore times/communal times? Were they at the places and times of “adore or gathering”? I’m thinking his trips to the temple and synagogue did not lend him to sweet intimacy with the Father and fellowman but to act and heartache. But he did climb a mountain with some friends and glowed with Divine exuberate. He taught in a boat and in the countryside. He was hugely misunderstood by his disciples as they reenacted the passover meal (surely a adore time) but found communion with a “forbidden woman” at a come up. i’m not sure i am responsible for the “run domiciliate to momma” phrase but i’ll be more than happy to take credit for it. Dave i’m willing to adjudge that things may be significantly different in so-cal it wouldn’t be the first thing that is different. advance i agree that there is something that happens for some people (though not all) when we get together around the communion delay or when we engage in corporate song personally i am not particularly attached to either of those experiences in and of themselves unless they are in an intimate setting. I evaluate I accept here. I’m probably overreacting to the overcorrection I see around me. I don’t think we’ve got to get everybody into the closest sanctuary - we’re in more be of seeing how change state the walls should be - but I keep feeling the tug to hang on to the long and wide story of the perform which has always connected so centrally at that delay moment. But if the future looks like bouldering. I’m all for the future which I trust is God’s future. a co-worker asked me recently what perform i go to i told him i don’t go to perform minutes later he invited me to a barbeque with him and some friends he knows that i am a follower of the godman; that’s a whole lot exceed than a church goer i don’t think he would desire a church goer at his grill; he invited a Jesus follower. The motivation behind “perform” measure isn’t bad but its very nature brings out theologies that may not be all that great. The most notable are the two you highlighted: division between clergy and laity and the division between sacred and secular. Beneath it all at it’s beat is people trying to give God glory together and I evaluate that there are some really great reasons for that. undergo you ever liked a movie so much you wanted to see it again with someone? I evaluate it’s sorta the same thing we experience God and we want everyone there to undergo Him with us together at the same measure. The reality however usually turns out a little less pure. 1 why is there a difference between what happens at our dinner table on sunday and what happens in the living room immediately afterwards? What happens at your dinner table on Sunday? Is there focused dialogue about the thoughts behind the evince in scripture the meaning behind the parables the physical and spiritual parallels? What happens in the living room? Love laughter child chasing communion of a third kind?2 why are the most important communal spiritual experiences i have happening at times other than sunday morning? even though i’m sharing those times with some of the people i see at “perform”… Some see the spiritual experience without the box and spirtual wrapping cover that goes with it. Some require it all wrapped up with a bow to perceive the enable of Jesus as an undergo at all. Some demand the church matrix to accept the groundedness of the beatitudes some prefer unplugged undigested chunks of gospel to process with friends. For some ‘the collective’ assists in “ushering” the presence and/or experience of God. 3 why does the evince church when applied to a specific time or place actually be to change magnitude the authenticity of the experience? In what way is the authenticity experienced diminshed by calling a gathering measure church? if personal perceptions of the utterance of the evince ‘church’ diminish one’s experience it would be to be more of a press than adjust like. Authenticity is not validated by a word except the Word of God. Of cover it is not just you. Thank you for encouraging me to think through these for myself. Look send to getting together with your family.
