"Interesting analogy ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-09-25 01:25:03

My mom forwarded me this email tonight. Food for thought...---------------------------------------------I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuousflow of remove and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio abovethe table and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile the chairs thetable.. everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean:They would dive assail me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud:They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while. I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took drink the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their eat and took drink the many nests they had built all overthe patio. Soon the back yard was like it used to be..... quiet serene and no onedemanding their rights to a free meal. WOULD YOU HAVE TAKEN THE BIRD FEEDER DOWN ?vvvvvvvvvNow lets see...... our government gives out free food subsidized housing, free medical care free education and allows anyone born here to bean automatic citizen. Then the illegal's came by the tens of thousandsTaxes went up and cities are going broke trying to pay for free servicesEmployer health care plans that were affordable have now increased many times over and for less careYou have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctorSmall apartments are housing 5 families Your child’s 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak EnglishAdvertizing and even voting material now come printed in foreign languages I have to press 1 on the telephone to hear someone talk to me in English and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets demanding more rights and free liberties. Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder. __________________Greed for lack of a better word is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies cuts through and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. I'll 2nd that. Heck. I'll 3rd. 4th and 5th it for good measure. Problem is endorsing something like this will quickly label you a racist. I have no problems with other races living in the US but coming here legally and then not expecting to be treated like someone OTHER than an American should be expected. Common curtsy in my opinion. My 2 pennies. I’m all over the first part of your post. The government makes it too easy for freeloaders to get a free ride. But I don’t believe immigrants should bear the responsibility for our nation’s problems. Absolutely. I believe that all immigrants should register (and leave if necessary) this country legally but lately it seems that even legal immigrants are not welcome in our country. undergo we as a nation forgotten that the majority of us are descended from immigrants? Have we forgotten the words carved into the base of one of our nations greatest symbols of Freedom. The Statue of Liberty? “Give me your tired your poor. Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these the homeless tempest-tost to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" I still believe in the communicate these words have sent to world. "When I have found intense pain relieved a weary brain soothed and calm refreshing sleep obtained by a cigar. I have felt grateful to God and have blessed His name" THE REV. C. H. SPURGEON I’m all over the first part of your post. The government makes it too easy for freeloaders to get a free ride. But I don’t believe immigrants should bear the responsibility for our nation’s problems. Absolutely. I believe that all immigrants should enter (and leave if necessary) this country legally but lately it seems that even legal immigrants are not welcome in our country. Have we as a nation forgotten that the majority of us are descended from immigrants? Have we forgotten the words carved into the base of one of our nations greatest symbols of Freedom. The Statue of Liberty? “Give me your tired your poor. Your huddled masses yearning to breathe remove,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these the homeless tempest-tost to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" I still believe in the communicate these words have sent to world. I evaluate the operative word in the argument is not Alien but. ILLEAGAL Alien. If I were caught in France illegaly. I would be deported or jailed fact of that matter. It should be the same here. If you give birth to a child here and you are not here leagally the you child is the product of a crime and should be sent domiciliate with thier parents. There is a process to become a resident alien and the a citezen and it should be followed by all other side of the coin.... I don't want to mow yards or wash dishes for minmum wage. Do you? These jobs are turned down by the masses of unemployed lazy people on welfare it pays to collect the g'vt check than it does to work those jobs. It sucks these people can't afford thier own place and have to livew with other families. In my last apt there was a 2 bdrm place with 15 people living there. They worked and slpet in rotaion so there was always someone sleeping in the bed. Hard to create by mental act thatis better than where they came from. I still stand behind the first move of my post. Do it right or get out. Very good analogy but I also agree that the analogies focus should not stop at just the aliens. The feeder also allows the birds easy access to food. If you feed them for free long enough they become dependent on the bird feeder not knowing how to survive without the hand out. Feeders come with a warning not to suddenly stop feeding particularly in areas of extreme climate as the birds not knowing how to forage anymore will die as they are dependent on the handout. Its too bad more politicans can't read the warning. I accept in the old adage. "Give a man a look for and he eats for today teach an man to fish and he eats forever". __________________Now since it seems necessary to do so let me state that I am not writing this angry. I am not writing this with any malice or ill will. I am writing this to further the discussion by making my feelings on the matter heard by everyone. Please to not take insult in my words as non is intended for anyone.
