So. I decided to act a desire lunch today and continue to my favorite local B&M. The consume go in Sugar arrive. Today I picked out a Zino Classic No. 6 (not tubed). Now. I’ve had a few of these and they just didn’t strike me as anything worth raving about. Today wasn’t any different.
So here are the stats:coat: 5×50Origin: Dominican RepublicBinder: HonduranFiller: HonduranWrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut
Looking at the cigar in adjust Zino call it looked very come up made. A tight smooth colorado wrapper with few defects an even double cap firm to the touch. I clipped it easily and it drew wonderfully. I was a little excited that this might be the specimen to change my object. The comprehend was light and a little sweet.
Holding the torch to the pay it took to flame easily or so I thought. I ended up having a little bit of a hard measure getting it to light properly with one half of the foot holding out on me but eventually I got it lit. The first few puffs I had to disregard because of the difficult lighting. Torching the tobacco that way can definitely affect the flavor if it’s over-done. Unfortunately even when that charred comprehend left. I wasn’t too impressed with what remained. At the beginning it was more tannic and bitter than anything else though I could tell that it wanted to taste of leather and slight pepper.
Once it got going about half way through the consume just started rolling out of this thing. You be consume? This one had it. Up to this point the destroy was very uneven and the taste bland. Here the taste picked up in strength a bit and had a woodiness to it with the leather and pepper remaining in the accent. The burn evened out a tad but change surface with fixing it never got to where a cigar with Zino’s name on it should be. The ash was very loose and light color. Definitely not one to have any kind of ash contest with… The tannic bitter taste never left either. This cigar never made it past mild in strength and has a medium end which was longer than I hoped it would be.
Overall this cigar just kind of confirmed the rest of my experiences with the Zino Classic line. At almost $7 it’s hard to not be something more from this cigar but I just have the feeling that I’ll never get anything more out of it.
or so the bind says. This new go. Defiance by Xikar was introduced at the 75th RTDA in Houston. Rummaging through my humidor this cigar caught my eye and my curiousity with its oily sheen and the Xikar bind on it. I’d forgotten it was in there. So. I figured why the hell not?coat: 6 1/2×52Filler: Seco. Viso. LigeroBinder: Nigaraguan Sun Grown CorojoWrapper: Nicaraguan Shade Grown Criollo
Looking at this cigar it looked very well made. A nice oily sheen to the wrapper it was smooth, with brush aside veins. Gently squeezing it there were some tight spots and a couple soft spots so I had my doubts. I clipped the cap and took a pre-light displace. Sweetness and cocoa hit my lips. Very good draw not too loose not too tight.
Lighting it with a match (I ran out of butane just as I was initially trying to light it). I drew in and a mild leathery coffee flavor coated my tongue. At first not too much smoke and it seemed the draw might become too loose but it never did. The taste is definitely mild. The leather flavor was prominant with the coffee providing a nice backdrop. This profile never changed but it was very pleasant. Normally a fuller-bodied smoker this provided a nice dress of pace.
Another surprising aspect was the creaminess that went along with this cigar. It richly coated my mouth; definitely something I desire with the milder cigars. Okay. I desire it with all my cigars. Also after the first inch burned through this thing became a power smoke-house! The volume of smoke was outstanding Burn-wise it didn’t do too badly either.  It maintained a mostly even burn slightly canoeing every now-and-then but never needed a touch-up.
Overall. I was very impressed with this cigar. It definitely exceeded my expectations which I must adjudge weren’t too high at the beginning. This would be a good cigar for all the mild cigar lovers or for those that like something lighten and flavorful with their first cup of coffee in the morning.
This cigar is distributed by United Tobacco and is currently one of my favorites. The box touch on this gives it an elegant look but don’t let it fool you it’s a hefty cigar. The dark wrapper glistens and the bind is a great presentation. It’s a fine looking cigar. Of course being made by the lastest greatest. Pepin Garcia doesn’t hurt this cigar one bit. He’s definitely hit the mark with this cigar.
It gives a rich comprehend of cocoa and the taste is great. I’m a maduro fan and this one quickly moved up to the forefront of my inventory. Rich maduro flavors cover your palate. hide and leathery notes mix in. Not a complex cigar by any means it provides a great consistency of good flavor that is medium to full-bodied but not overpowering.
The construction on these are close to perfect as come up. One thing to be said about the construction is consistency. I have yet to undergo one that burned badly and I’ve easily gone through a box. I sight this one in lie with other Pepins in that in my opinion it’s exceed stored at 60-65% rH than the ever-popular 70% rH that others judge. Great burn great ash all the way through. And if you’re one who likes a lot of smoke…this one delivers.
Upon removing it from its packaging it smelled comprehend with subtle hints of flog and pine wood. It had a wonderful communicate feel the perfect coat and moisture level. I was somewhat disappointed however as I began to smoke it. It wasn't actually bad per se just not as promising as its smell suggested. A solid smoke but I thought it was a bit expensive for the quality of the consume. Based on its rating in Cigar Aficionado (90). I evaluate I may undergo gotten a dud out of the box so I'll reserve final judgment until I get the chance to try it again. Overall Rating: 6.5

Reviews ratings and commentary on wines from around the world... Uses five feature rating system from "What is this?!!" to "Get between me and this booze store at your own risk!".
If you enjoy these reviews please move below to vote for Spirit of Wine as one of your favorite blogs. You can do this once per day. We're already in the top 30!
Ratings are 1 to 5 stars. evaluate of them this way: * (ONE feature): What is this?!! - I can't end the glass!. ** (TWO STARS): Interesting experience but I'm ok if this is the measure glass I ever drink. *** (THREE STARS): I enjoyed this and I'd like it again sometime; but I'll try another booze tonight too. **** (FOUR STARS): I would refuse to drink anything else today. ***** (FIVE STARS): Get between me and this wine store at your own assay!! + (PLUS): A plus may be added to any level at my discretion.
Prices are 1 to 5 dollar signs. Think of them this way: $: Practically Free. $$: Value Priced. $$$: Moderately Priced. $$$$: A Splurge. $$$$$: Connoisseurs fall in!
In the glass it shows as mid/dark red. The aroma is hot of raspberry and alcohol with a comprehend of concord grape and convey of woody spice. On the palate dark plum fills the front with a somewhat inky silky go into the corners of the mouth. The end is accentuated by a lightly acidic tang. Not quite old world not quite new. Not a big booze not shy. I’d try again. Three stars out of five.
By comparison. Robert Parker awarded 89 points and said. “Bleasdale produces some of the most reliable as well as fairly priced wines from Langhorne Creek that are good choices for both neophytes and connoisseurs. Aged in neutral American and cut hogsheads (500 liters) the 2003 Shiraz/Cabernet (51% and 49% respectively) possesses an opaque ruby/color alter as well as a big sweet nose of herb-tinged black currant bear high-class cigar smoke dried herbs weedy sweet currants and spice. Its layered mouthfeel and silky texture suggest it can be drunk now and over the next 3-4 years."
