Welcome!Offered for your bid is a One Of A Kind Celtic Design Wooden Cigar Box round. Its unique decoration is of a Celtic Knotwork variation present on all sides. The design is burnt onto the wood then sealed with high polish polyurethane to protect it. There is a gold mouth clip closure and a Bamboo command. This unique purse measures 6 1/2 inches wide. 6 1/4 inches high and 2 1/4 inches deep. The interior is lined with color felt. The approve is signed and numbered by the artist.
About the ArtistMeg is a self taught artist who enjoys creating her own renditions of Celtic Art using the pyrographic method of expression. She calls her expressions Pyro Gwydd meaning Burned Wood. She is known to create her designs on old wood items she finds available thus giving them new life and purpose. Sometimes she uses new wood pieces such as open in fashion stores. Her technique is to visualize the create by mental act then sketch it to fit the piece she is working on. The design is then transferred onto the wood and a wood burner is used to set it on the wood. Usually there will be a high polish polyurethane finish to her work allowing the beauty of the wood to show through. She is influenced by the intricate style of design open in the Book of Kells. She may use some measuring devices to map out her sketch but never uses a standardized template. Using this technique affords non-mathematical rigidity. Meg loves doing her designs and offers them at prices that everyone can drop. She also does special requests such as zoomorphic designs and calligraphy.
