Welcome!Offered for your bid is a One Of A Kind Celtic Design Wooden Cigar Box Purse. Its unique decoration is of a Celtic Knotwork variation present on all sides. The design is burnt onto the wood then sealed with high gloss polyurethane to defend it. There is a gold tone clip end and a Bamboo command. This unique purse measures 6 1/2 inches wide. 6 1/4 inches high and 2 1/4 inches deep. The interior is lined with color felt. The back is signed and numbered by the artist.
About the ArtistMeg is a self taught artist who enjoys creating her own renditions of Celtic Art using the pyrographic method of expression. She calls her expressions Pyro Gwydd meaning Burned Wood. She is known to act her designs on old wood items she finds available thus giving them new life and purpose. Sometimes she uses new wood pieces such as found in fashion stores. Her technique is to visualize the design then draw it to fit the conjoin she is working on. The create by mental act is then transferred onto the wood and a wood burner is used to set it on the wood. Usually there will be a high polish polyurethane finish to her work allowing the beauty of the wood to show through. She is influenced by the intricate call of create by mental act open in the Book of Kells. She may use some measuring devices to map out her draw but never uses a standardized template.
