"Perdomo Website Review" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-09-25 01:25:47

Cigar Information: BPerdomo has all their cigars listed with a decent description of the blends. The problem I have is they don’t end down the tobacco in each cigar telling us the binder filler and wrapper. Company Information: A+I really can’t ask for anything else this is exactly what every company should be doing. Easy to find contact information that is even broken down so you can contact certain departments directly. They have a great company history detailing the past and present of the company very well along with a vision of the future. They have a huge collect of press releases and an extensive photo gallery. I can’t find anything to charge about here. Website Features and Usability: AI like the layout of the site very easy to navigate but it does have some quirks with my check resolution. I like the Find a Tobacconist feature but I wish they also had a way to locate online retailers. They have a newsletter that is easy to sign up for but I’ll have to wait an see how often they send it out. I’m fairly impressed with the forums while they may not be the most active forums employees of Perdomo are actively involved on them. I think this adds a nice level approachability to the company for the consumer. Recommendations:Just a few minor things I’d like to see changed. In the cigar section they have the cigars listed in one column. I hate scrolling two or even three columns would work better. I’d also like to see a better breakdown of the tobacco in the cigars themselves. The site looks a bit strange in higher resolutions centering it would make it easier to read. Overall Perdomo’s site is a great source of information and they’ve made it a valuable resource for their customers. I really like this feature you’ve been running. It’s a great idea. I have a different take on the online retailer thing you mentioned in features and usability. I am sort of a champion of the local tobacconist. I am all about supporting the local guy and letting the internet giants fend for themselves. They already have enough built in advantages over the B&M shops. I feel the cigar mfgs should do a little more to promote those shops that carry their cigars and not hurt them B&Ms further buy using their website to drive traffic to the internet vendors. Most online shoppers know who the big internet guys are and experience where to find their smokes. Local B&M’s provide more than just cigars in most cases you are also getting a place to consume and a community of cigar lovers to interact with. So I say it’s a good move on Perdomos site not to promote the internet vendors and I bet their B&M accounts appreciate it as well.

"Just ordered two boxes of Fumadores" posted by ~Ray

Just got in on Holts special on the Fumadores by Jose Pepin Garcia. Buy a box and get 5 free #2 Fumadores. I ordered 2 boxes of the #2's. I am a Pepin fan and wanted to furnish these a try. I hear some mixed reviews but for less the $2.00 a fasten I figured I cant go to wrong. I was given one of those #2 in a trade tasted alright for a Non Cuban.. Good smoke for the money if you ask me.. __________________It's allot easier to ask for forgiveness then it is to ask for permission and Detroit strippers well they're Detroit strippers.. picture the Pistons with wigs on. Nice.. i've been eyeing that as well... I'll probably order them pretty soon Great price for a Pepin. Really curious on how they smoke. I've only had one but wasn't too bad. A little milder than most of his cram but pretty good comprehend! I enjoyed the one that Jockolarity gifted to me. Not bad for a short filler couldnt really tell the diff. "Tatuaje Series P2" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-27 19:36:59

Tatuaje Series P cigars are economy selections from Jose Pepin Garcia’s Tabacalera Cubana in Esteli. Nicaragua. These are “cuban sandwich” cigars made with the same filler amalgamate as Pete Johnson’s Tatuaje Havana VI presumably with cast aside tobacco from the same. These are Nicaraguan puros and are marketed as having 40% long filler and 60% medium filler. The wrapper is Nicaraguan Habano. Construction is always an air when it comes to sandwich or mixed filler cigars and the Series P is not immune. Most of the cigars I’ve sampled in this series undergo been fine but a few have had destroy problems and a bring together have change integrity their wrappers in catastrophic fashion. From the price alone it seems a bit of a assay — about 4 USD per fasten local sell. Not your typical Pepin determine mark but it’s a reasonable wager for this cigar. The coat I chose for this analyse was the robusto P2. (These are also available in churchill toro and corona grande vitolas.) The wrapper is not a looker exactly so you’ll want to judge this one for its personality rather than its superficial deficiency. The wrapper cause to be perceived here is straight ahead cedar with a little bit of sweet hit on the prelight displace. The P2 starts up with no nonsense medium bodied tobacco flavors and maintains that cover pretty much to the end. The real attraction here is the sweet spicy aroma from the wrapper. It has a very carmelized kind of comprehend almost like roasted marshmellows. After a bring together inches some spice arrives at the party but for the most part it serves as a mild condiment over that simple sweet woody flavor. There isn’t much convert here as Jerry noticed in his of this cigar. I undergo to accept with him that a big development isn’t really necessary here. desire the Havana VI this is a relatively mild amalgamate for Tatuaje and Pepin. At times the consume seems a little bit thin but it’s flavorful and the wrapper imparts a delicate sweetness that is not easily found among cigars in this determine range. It’s really not fair to compare this cigar to the standard line Tats so I won’t. Just bequeath that this is a bargain-oriented cigar made with the leavings from the big boys. The result is a ghostly palimpsest of the original work but when the original is a Tatuaje that may be just enough to close the deal. For 4 bucks anyway. I find these hard to defeat for a bargain yard ‘gar. Their price is ameliorate for a smoke while working in the yard or a windy day on the golf course when you aren’t paying a whole lot of attention to the consume and flavor wise are more enjoyable that a lot of other three to four dollar smokes out there. I put them alter up there with the Flor de Olivas in terms of good cheap yard ‘gars.
