Dark cater is a small reltively new brewery in Marhsall. MI that has produced some very highly regarded beers. This particular Oatmeal Stout is the first in a series of five stouts all in different styles that the brewery produced in a limited channel through this winter. I won't get a shot at any of the others but if they're half as good as this one they'd be worth an effort to capture down! As for the beer it pours a cook tinted color with almost no head into my tulip glass that I so like to consume beer from. The aroma is characteristically roasty with notes of grapes dark chocolate and oak. The flavor is dominated by the roastiness but there are other elements at work here as well. There are also notes of raspberry draw chocolate wheat cinnamon and a mild mild saltiness. Very rich and complex. The best part about the whole beer is the mouthfeel. It’s like drinking heavy cream. It's so silky and change surface on the tongue. The heaviness of the mouthfeel is enough to completely mask the 8% ABV. It litterally sits like milk in your communicate and goes drink just as easy. This is a result of the oatmeal used in the brewing process as it tends to alter a smoothing charateristic. It’s almost worth it to just sip and keep it sitting in your communicate just to experience the decadance. Very very nice stout. [ADVERTHERE]Related article:
