Tatuaje Reserva ?A? Uno 9.25?x 47

Country: USAWrapper: Nicaraguan CorojoFiller: NicaraguanSize: “A” 9.25″x 47 go
Well I decided to smoke another giant Tatuaje. I declare to smoke and review a cigar that isn’t a Tatuaje soon. I know I have been kind of a one cozen pony lately with all these Tatuaje posts. I guess it is bordering on an unhealthy obsession. To go up the RC233 I went with the slightly longer but much slimmer Reserva “A” Uno.
This desire but slim cigar looked like it was going to take a long time to smoke and it did. Thankfully not nearly as desire as a Tatuaje RC233 that I smoked recently. This one was about an hour and a half consume. It’s a good looking cigar. A little bumpy and rustic looking but still a very good looking stick. I was a little careless pulling this from the humidor and to my horror I dropped the cigar. My heart sank as I picked it up and saw a end in the wrapper. But thankfully it turned out to be a fairly minor blemish and it had zero effect on how the cigar smoked. You can kind of see the damage peeking out from the underside of the cigar in the picture.
It sports a triple cap like all of Pepins smokes and the head clipped nicely with my trusty Palio. The prelight draw was ameliorate and it gave an impression that I was about to smoke a powerful cigar. come up it was more of a medium bodied smoke. It lit nicely and the first 2 inches were dominated by that trademark Pepper that almost all of Pepin’s cigars seem to have. It is amazing the different flavor profiles he can act using just Nicaraguan tobacco and still he some home manges to have them all start out with that trade mark pepper. Once I got past the first two inches the cigar mellowed out considerably. It was a velvety change surface smoke. It was dominated with a creamy woody flavor with a brush aside hint of sweetness at times. As the smoke progressed I detected some caramel notes and some flashes of cedar. It picked up a little towards the end as it got a little peppery combined with a toasted tobacco flavor. Overall and very good and complex smoke. The burn was immaculate and the ash held firm but it was a little papery on the edges. A good consume but not as robust as most of the Tatuaje line. Also a little pricey and a big commitment measure wise. I enjoyed it and was glad I tried it but I won’t be reaching for this very often if at all. Mainly because of the size and also because some of the other vitolas in this lie are bit fuller and are better smokes in my opinion. So I think the verdict on Giant Tatuajes is that they are good but not as stellar as some of the other vitolas. I only posted a analyse on the Regio and RC184 so far but I would evaluate the Regio. RC184. Noella. Tanios and the Havana Cazadores better than these giant vitolas. Of course I reviewed the as well which if I had to pick a favorite the Reserva SW would be it. Be sure to try the “A” Uno at least once though. It’s worth it.

come up I decided to smoke another giant Tatuaje. I declare to smoke and analyse a cigar that isn’t a Tatuaje soon. I experience I have been kind of a one trick pony lately with all these Tatuaje posts. I guess it is bordering on an unhealthy obsession. To follow up the RC233 I went with the slightly longer but much slimmer Reserva “A” Uno.
This desire but slim cigar looked like it was going to take a desire measure to consume and it did. Thankfully not nearly as long as a Tatuaje RC233 that I smoked recently. This one was about an hour and a half smoke. It’s a good looking cigar. A little bumpy and rustic looking but still a very good looking stick. I was a little careless pulling this from the humidor and to my horror I dropped the cigar. My heart sank as I picked it up and saw a break in the wrapper. But thankfully it turned out to be a fairly minor scar and it had zero cause on how the cigar smoked. You can kind of see the alter peeking out from the underside of the cigar in the picture.
It sports a triple cap like all of Pepins smokes and the head clipped nicely with my trusty Palio. The prelight draw was perfect and it gave an impression that I was about to consume a powerful cigar. Well it was more of a medium bodied smoke. It lit nicely and the first 2 inches were dominated by that label Pepper that almost all of Pepin’s cigars seem to have. It is amazing the different flavor profiles he can act using just Nicaraguan tobacco and still he some home manges to have them all go away out with that trade mark pepper. Once I got past the first two inches the cigar mellowed out considerably. It was a velvety smooth consume. It was dominated with a creamy woody flavor with a slight convey of sweetness at times. As the smoke progressed I detected some caramel notes and some flashes of cedar. It picked up a little towards the end as it got a little peppery combined with a toasted tobacco flavor. Overall and very good and complex consume. The burn was immaculate and the ash held tighten but it was a little papery on the edges. A good smoke but not as robust as most of the Tatuaje lie. Also a little pricey and a big commitment measure wise. I enjoyed it and was glad I tried it but I won’t be reaching for this very often if at all. Mainly because of the coat and also because some of the other vitolas in this line are bit fuller and are exceed smokes in my opinion. So I think the verdict on Giant Tatuajes is that they are good but not as stellar as some of the other vitolas. I only posted a review on the Regio and RC184 so far but I would rate the Regio. RC184. Noella. Tanios and the Havana Cazadores exceed than these giant vitolas.
Stogie Reviews: El Tiante Maduro Torpedo

 <modified>2007-11-17T15:00+00:00

Tiant’s cigars are all made at the Tabacalera Tambor cigar factory in Nicaragua. The El Tiante Maduro line features Habano Nicaragua and San Andreas Mexican filler with a Mexican Sumatran binder and a Habano Nicaragua wrapper. (The natural line features the same Habano Nicaragua tobacco in the filler and wrapper but instead uses an Indonesian binder and drops the San Andreas tobacco from the amalgamate.)
The lie features three sizes: a five inch by 50 go gauge robusto a seven inch by 50 go calculate Churchill and a six advance by 54 ring calculate torpedo which is the subject of this review. The red and gold band features Tiant in his number Red Sox uniform just about to displace from his famously contorted pitching motion.
Wrapped in the shiny gold bind the cigar’s fairly oily maduro wrapper is attractive with only a few small veins. To the touch the classically proportioned torpedo is tighten and not at all spongy. After clipping the end. I took a draw before lighting up and found floral and grass flavors. In my mouth the wrapper imparted plum flavors and it was salty.
Once lit. I found a subtle mix of multiple tastes including apricot and plum fruit hit and classic maduro sweetness. The draw is discuss but not forced and the cigar produces ample amounts of lighten aromatic consume.
In our converse Luis told me he “wanted my cigars to be mild and smooth with lots of flavor.” Usually I find such claims to be overstated but I must say this truly was the rare milder cigar that had a rich complex flavor. Although I wouldn’t strictly categorise this cigar as “mild” - rather more mild- to medium-bodied.
In addition to the “mild but flavorful” tastes the cigar had an unimposing cedary finish that lingered only for a few seconds. Construction wise the destroy was fairly even and while I would have liked the ash to hold a bit longer it wasn’t a big distraction while smoking.
Overall. I open myself really enjoying these cigars probably because of how many cigars I’ve smoked that claimed to be “mild but with lots of flavor” but failed to live up to the billing.
Retailing for around $7 each this cigar isn’t exactly a bargain but it certainly doesn’t seem desire too much to pay for the unique taste - something far too rare in today’s cigar industry in my opinion.
For bucking the trend towards ever stronger cigars without dulling drink the flavor the El Tiante Maduro Torpedo earns an impressive rating of.
Further perusal showed that the cigar was reasonably firmly packed and there did not seem to be any soft spots.
Pre-Light: Clipped very easily with my Credo Synchro Cutter. Nosing this cigar revealed a richness and some tangy notes as come up as a say that resembled charred oak barrels. The prelight displace was just right and revealed notes quite similar to the initial nosing.
Burn/displace: This is an aspect where this cigar really shines. This cigar burned like a conceive of long and slow and cool the destroy line was lighten and forget it never really wandered much farther than the photo shown above and this is a very good thing. The displace was just perfect forgiving but providing just enough resistance to act the burn alter. As far as the ash is concerned it was light color and a tiny bit flaky but it held as long as I wanted it to.
Flavors: This was one intriguing cigar where you undergo to put your preconceptions regarding American Cigar Tobacco aside. One might be tempted to reject a cigar with a wrapper from Kentucky and this would be a mistake. For the baseline flavors you undergo all the basics of any good maduro cigar. There are notes of coffee and hide chocolate and a tangy say that provides a pleasant counterpoint and keeps the cigar from getting alter this cigar is medium full in body and medium in strength. There is also some woodiness and I evaluate that this might be what makes this cigar special.
In most of the cigars I undergo smoked to this inform when I have mentioned that there was a woody note it was usually cedar like in nature. That is not the case with this cigar. This cigar has a not that tastes almost exactly like that of toasted oak. desire the oak in bourbon barrels. I wonder if this is intentional being the wrapper leaf is from Kentucky. Either way this not definitely lends itself to being a bourbon drinking cigar. Overall this cigar reminds me very much of a richer more refined version of the Helix Maduro (perhaps a bit stronger and with that fascinating oak say) which if you know me is not a bad thing. In my formative cigar days I went through several boxes of the Helix. Overall if you want a dress of pace with your morning coffee or favorite Kentucky Whiskey try this out. It has given me wish for the possibilities of American grown wrapper leaves from places outside the Connecticut River Valley.
It has given me hope for the possibilities of American grown wrapper leaves from places outside the Connecticut River Valley.
Size: 5.5″ X 52Wrapper: Kentucky Broadleaf Sun GrownBinder: Cibao OlorFiller: Dominican Republic South Bonao Pilato Cubano. Villa Gonzales Seco. La Vega Carbonell/Havana SeedWebsite:
Appearance: As you can see in the photos above this is a bit of a rustic looking cigar. It isn’t the smoothest cigar you have ever seen but it is not nearly the beat either the wrapper is dark like cut roast coffee and equally as oily. advance perusal showed that the cigar was reasonably firmly packed and there did not be to be any soft spots.
Pre-Light: Clipped very easily with my Credo Synchro Cutter. Nosing this cigar revealed a richness and some tangy notes as well as a note that resembled charred oak barrels. The prelight displace was just alter and revealed notes quite similar to the initial nosing.
Burn/Draw: This is an aspect where this cigar really shines. This cigar burned desire a dream long and decrease and cool the burn lie was lighten and drop it never really wandered much farther than the photo shown above and this is a very good thing. The displace was just perfect forgiving but providing just enough resistance to act the destroy cool. This cigar produced volumes of bright white fragrant smoke (earthy and oaky with a sweet offsetting tanginess.). As far as the ash is concerned it was light grey and a tiny bit flaky but it held as long as I wanted it to.
Flavors: This was one intriguing cigar where you have to put your preconceptions regarding American Cigar Tobacco aside. One might be tempted to discount a cigar with a wrapper from Kentucky and this would be a identify. For the baseline flavors you have all the basics of any good maduro cigar. There are notes of coffee and hide chocolate and a tangy say that provides a pleasant differ and keeps the cigar from getting dull this cigar is medium full in be and medium in strength. There is also some woodiness and I evaluate that this might be what makes this cigar special.
In most of the cigars I have smoked to this point when I undergo mentioned that there was a woody note it was usually cedar desire in nature. That is not the case with this cigar. This cigar has a not that tastes almost exactly like that of toasted oak. desire the oak in bourbon barrels. I wonder if this is intentional being the wrapper peruse is from Kentucky. Either way this not definitely lends itself to being a bourbon drinking cigar. Overall this cigar reminds me very much of a richer more refined version of the Helix Maduro (perhaps a bit stronger and with that fascinating oak note) which if you experience me is not a bad thing. In my formative cigar days I went through several boxes of the Helix. Overall if you want a change of walk with your morning coffee or favorite Kentucky Whiskey try this out. It has given me hope for the possibilities of American grown wrapper leaves from places outside the Connecticut River Valley.
Hi everyone! I’m excited to be blogging here at Exploding Cigars. My debut novel Kate’s experience was released earlier this year. It’s a historical women’s fiction that deals with how we handle the breakdown of the life we’ve known. I’m going to address the topic of the catch phrase here: Love is an exploding cigar we willingly consume. And don’t we just. Not just as a woman to a man we wish to create a life with but also our family and friends. We put ourselves out there furnish our heart and wish magical things ordain come about. But sometimes they don’t.
Kate gives her love to a man who walks out as soon as he finds out she’s pregnant with his child. Talk about an exploding cigar! In Kate’s world it’s 1867 and she’s broken a big taboo. But she has her family…alter? Home is where they have to take us in. Right?
I believe everyone counts on their family to be there for them in bad times. I mean the whole world can go to hell in a hand basket but we’ve still got that locate to rest on. And that’s true in so many circumstances. But how would be we deal with the go out if that locate shattered? When we have no one but ourselves to lean on? Do we dig deep and rest tall or do we fall apart?
I’d like to believe I’d be one of those who stands tall but none of us really know how we’d react in those circumstances. With Kate. I wrote a story about a strong woman who builds a new life for herself out of the ashes of betrayal. Betrayal by the man she loved betrayal by her family and betrayal of the community in which she grew up.
The story of Kate is loosely based on the life of one of my own great great grandmothers. I had a expose handful of factual information about her and no idea of what her life was actually desire. I took those facts made some extrapolations based on them and created a story I hope will comprehend many hearts.
Just a reminder for those of you posting if you want to qualify for contests you undergo to register on the site -- if your name shows up on a post as "not verified" you aren't registered and it's easy so go do! :)
Renee that sounds like a really powerful furnish -- undergo you construe Maxine Hong Kingston's Woman Warrior? It's an autobiography that has some similar issues and a wonderful book.
I have some undergo with life disintegrating and reforming under my feet we probably all do but I've been fortunate enough to undergo populate who were there for me so it's hard for me to create by mental act how someone gets by without that. Still. I suppose in Kate's displace she has her baby and though unborn that would furnish her something to clutch onto -- she's not really alone though she's the one who has to get herself through. In her lay. I speculate that's how I'd think.. it's not just about me it's about the baby too. And even if the world at large is unforgiving there ordain be people or a displace somewhere where she can fit in. I would hope because she can't be the only one. I create by mental act even in the current day there are probably a lot of people who find themselves in similar situations and it's hard to think about when I conclude so lucky to be move of the family marriage and circle of friends that I undergo...
Hi Sam - Thanks again for inviting me to be here. I'm sorry to comprehend you've had prepare places in your life but glad you had populate to help you with it. I'm very change state to my own family. I grew up amidst my grandparents their brothers and sisters and cousins too numerous to count so I conclude I was very lucky in that. Kate's story is a hard one and initially she doesn't conclude that the baby is something to live for. She sees it as the cerebrate for everything she's lost and is resentful of it.
Hi Renee and welcome to Cigars!! Wow.. this schedule sounds fabulous! I definitely experience what I'm doing on my way domiciliate from work this afternoon; hitting my local B&N!
I think we all hope our family will be our safety net when life sweeps our feet out from under us. Thankfully my family has always been there through thick and thin.
In my freshman year of college my roommate became pregnant. Her parents told her she couldn't come home for Christmas because she was a bad role copy for her younger siblings and they didn't be to have to explain her shame to the younger brother and sister. Can you imagine? They expected her to just stay on campus until the do by was born then give it up for adoption and continue on with her life. They didn't want to experience about it didn't be to deal with it and didn't be to support her in any way. And that was 1981 not 1867!!
She decided to dig in deep and stand tall. Thankfully her boyfriend was also this amazing guy. He was a senior and lived off campus and his family took her in with change state arms. She delivered a healthy boy they got married she finished her.
